Radiant Skin is a Reflection of Personal Lifestyle Practices

Basic beauty begins with the glow of good health, which shines from within, and a result of personal lifestyle practices. The skin often mirrors the health of the whole body. A radiant clear complexion begins with proper nutrition, efficient digestion and assimilation of nutrients by the body and regular elimination. Skin problems are a reflection of internal health and are often a reflection of overall body and blood toxicity and/or stomach problems. Almost anything that cleanses the blood or intestines will also show a result on the skin. Skin problems can also be as a result of allergies, hormone imbalances, nutrition or dehydration.

Prevention and Natural Treatment of Skin Conditions

Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. - "What is your skin trying to tell you? Often the skin is a metaphor for deeper issues and a way for your body to send up a red flag to warn you that all is not well underneath. When our skin is unhealthy it is usually a reflection of the internal state of our bodies, and is often a sign of poor elimination of toxins and waste products."

The skin, sometimes called the third kidney, is the body's largest eliminative organ after the liver. When it functions efficiently, it eliminates two pounds of waste acids daily, so its ability to excrete toxins is of paramount importance; when the skin ceases to function properly, an increased burden is placed on the lymphatic system and other excretory organs. One of the greatest treasures that a woman or a man can have is healthy, radiant skin. A beautiful complexion and glorious body skin are a reflection of our personal life-style practices. The skin excretes, absorbs and protects. If the balanced of the skin becomes disturbed especially through poor nutrition the functions associated with the skin cells cannot act in a balanced manner and can result in dryness, excessive oiliness, and inability to protect against infectious organism. The most rigorously followed healthful living plan necessarily includes a nutritious diet, pure water, regular exercise in the fresh air, adequate rest and sleep, and sensible stress management

Skin Requires Constant Supply of Essential Fatty Acids

One of the biggest mistakes a person can make is to follow a low-fat or no-fat diet. You must have adequate amounts of essential fatty acids to be healthy. Flax seeds oil, black seeds oil, and evening primrose oils (Essential Fatty Acids), are wonderful tonics for the skin and help prevent wrinkles.

Leo Galland, M.D. - "There are numerous health problems associated with EFA deficiencies. These include hair loss, eczema-like skin eruptions, suscepti susceptibility to infections, arthritis-like conditions, liver or kidney degeneration, growth retardation and vision or learning problems."

Home base business opportunity

Through his research and clinical work, Dr. Galland has found that essential fatty acidsFAs) are critical to a healthy immune system. He says "we are in the midst of a nationwide epidemic of EFA deficiencies that is undermining the health of our children." EFAs are essential because your child needs them to be healthy and his/her body can't make them. They must be supplied by the diet. There are numerous health problems associated with EFA deficiencies. These include hair loss, eczema-like skin eruptions, susceptibility to infections, arthritis-like conditions, liver or kidney degeneration, growth retardation and vision or learning problems

Essential Fatty Acids give you Beautiful Skin from Within

Dr Udo Erasmus - "A lack of essential fatty acids (EFAs) in our diet is the most important factor in our nutritional program for healthy, radiant skin. Most of us either don't eat enough good fats (Omega 3 and 6 Essential fatty acids) in our diet or we eat too much of the wrong fats. The result of this is an imbalance of EFAs and the signs are easy to read: dry skin, dandruff, acne, rough scaly skin. Dry skin is very common in this age of "fat phobia". Most people buy creams and lotions to overcome dry skin that hide the problem but never fix it. Thankfully there is a solution for dry skin and that is to add plenty of healing Omega 3 fats to your diet, which will moisturize your skin from the inside out. Omega 3's make the skin more supple and silky so flaky, scaly, rough itchy skin can be improved by increasing your intake of Omega 3's."

Embarrassed by skin problems

Ultra-fine all mineral facial support complex Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. - " Most of us are embarrassed by skin problems such as rashes, boils or acne, especially in places where others can see our imperfections. The skin is the body's first line of defense against the environment. It has to deal with the effects of weather, sun , cold, heat, dryness, humidity, scrapes, bumps, soaps, detergents, chemicals, perspiration and dirt of all kinds. It is a wonder that our skin stays healthy most of the time! We can help our skin deal with this onslaught by optimizing our general health and by protecting our skin from harsh environmental exposure. Western medicine generally treats skin eruptions with either antibiotics, cortisone, or antifungal preparations. These medicines may alleviate the skin problem temporarily, or occasionally for good, but do not address the source of the problem. Putting a lid on skin symptoms without getting to the root of the imbalance may even result in suppression, that means the imbalance may be driven deeper causing more serious health problems later without ever strengthening the underlying vital force of the person. Fortunately, naturopathic medicine offers a wide variety of effective treatments for skin problems."

Our skin is the largest organ of our body. No other organ has as much area exposed to the elements as does the skin. It is able to breathe in nutrients and it is able to expel waste. It is the skin which holds our bodies together, and gives us our glow, color and tone. Our skin absorbs what ever we put on it. Have you ever read the labels of your cosmetics and personal care products? Try It! You may begin to understand why your skin looks like it came from another planet. The ingredients certainly do not sound like the language of earthlings. And they do not sound as if they grew out of the earth. We need to take responsibility for what we feed our bodies (and our skin), and help our skin to create that deep Beauty that is “in the Eyes of the Beholder(s).

Taking the Fear out of Eating Fats - Wrinkles and Diet

Lori Lipinski is a Certified Nutritional Consultant, lecturer and writer whose articles have been published and quoted in highly respected national and international health journals and books.

"I worked with a client from Mexico who was here visiting her daughter over the summer. The mother was 85 years old, very strong and Good Fats Bad Fatshealthy, and had not one wrinkle on her beautiful face. Her skin was incredible! It was so soft and silky, not at all dry, scaly or wrinkly like the skin I'm so used to seeing with most of my clients. I just had to ask her what kind of fats she eats. Her daughter translated my question to her mother and then replied, "She said she eats mostly lard. I can't believe it! I keep telling her that's not good for her, but she just won't listen!"

"The medical community, junk food industry and the media have done an incredible job convincing the American public that fats are bad for us. Fats have been blamed for everything from clogging our arteries to causing cancer. And fats are definitely the most popular scapegoat for our national health obsession obesity!" - Lori Lipinski

"Avoid polyunsaturated oils and eat plenty of saturated fats.S Consumption of vegetable oils is associated with wrinkles while saturated animal fats and coconut oil help prevent wrinkles. Expose your skin to moderate amounts of natural sunlight or UV-B radiation from a Sperti sunlamp. Avoid stimulants such as coffee, tea and sugar. Never wash your face with soap. Avoid most face creams." - Lori Lipinski

New Study Reveals that Camu Camu Fights Wrinkles

Great news for healthier, younger looking skin was released earlier this year by researchers at the Hallym University in Korea. Ellagic acid is a nutrient found in the camu camu berry – was found to prevent the destruction of collagen that causes wrinkles and sun spots. It also improved inflammatory response, and helped to prevent thickening of the skin. Based on the research, ellagic acid works to protect skin cells against UV damage by blocking the enzyme that is responsible for breaking down collagen, and by reducing expression of ICAM, a molecule involved in inflammation. This is an important landmark in understanding more about the anti-aging effects of camu camu and its constituents.

Note from Shirley On my face and body, I only use organic coconut oil and/or Shea butter from the nut of the Mangifolia tree in Central Africa. The Mangifolia tree can live up to 300 years and has been called the "God Send" to the people of Africa. Found in the African Savannah, the Mangifolia tree gives up its fruit once a year. This is called the Karite nut. This nut is then boiled and the oil is extracted from it and refined into shea butter. Also known as Karite or Shea Nut Butter, it is high in triglycerides and has 5% fatty acids, 8% unsaponifiables, and 7% waxy esters. This natural fatty acid action is felt at the cellular level and contributes to the regeneration process of dry and wrinkled skin and can be used to treat rheumatism and aching muscles. Shea butter penetrates deep into your skin and gives it back its elasticity. It will revitalize, soften and maintain moisture to your skin without greasiness. Shea butter's high content of vitamins A, E and F will provide your skin with all the essential elements it needs for good skin balance.

Proper Nutrition is essential for Radiant Skin Health

Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. - "Diet and nutritional supplements: Regular consumption of plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, in whole form or juiced, raw food, along with legumes, grains, nuts, seeds, and little or no refined, over processed foods, fat, sugar, and caffeine will help your skin to stay young and healthy. Pay attention, particularly in the case of hives and rashes, to any foods to which you may be oversensitive. The nutritional supplements that are most of benefit to the skin are Vitamin A (we recommend it in the form of Beta carotene, which is non-toxic, since prolonged use of over 50,000 I.U. of Vitamin A can result in hair loss, skin dryness, and other symptoms of toxicity), Zinc, Vitamin E, and Vitamin C. We suggest these in combination with a mega multi vitamin and mineral containing 25-50 mg of the B vitamins but use higher amount with some skin conditions. Essential fatty acids such as linoleic and linolenic acid are necessary to keep the skin soft and pliable. PABA, often found in sun tan products, helps prevent against damage from the sun's ultraviolet rays."

The fastest way to restore wellness is to stop putting into the body the things that have caused the physical problem to develop in the first place, and then give the body the nutrients it needs to repair and rebuild itself. The body is self-healing when the infraction is stopped and proper nutrients provided.

Dr. James Meschino, DC - "Dietary manipulation and nutritional supplementation has been shown to be of clinical importance in the prevention and treatment of various skin conditions, including skin cancer, wound healing, atopic dermatitis eczema, seborrhea, psoriasis and acne. Eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis and, to a lesser degree, acne are skin conditions that are highly responsive to nutritional management. Skin smoothness can be enhanced, as well, through specific dietary manipulation and supplementation with essential oils, B-vitamins and antioxidants at established doses. Regarding nutrition and detoxification, research reveals that many skin conditions are aggravated by faulty detoxification mechanisms, excess toxicity and compromised liver function. The liver is the main blood filtration plant to neutralize and eliminate toxins from the body. Conversely, a number of skin conditions have been shown to respond favorably when the body's detoxification centers are supported through dietary manipulation and the appropriate use of supplements. Thus, nutritional support is a vital aspect of skin health and appearance, and optimizing detoxification is a primary target in the treatment of a variety of common skin conditions. Although enhancing detoxification is not the only role of nutritional management for skin conditions, it is an often overlooked area of intervention." James Meschino, DC, serves on the board of advisors of the Academy of Anti-Aging Research and is the clinical and research director for the RenaiSanté Institute of Integrative Medicine in Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada.

Since taking Phytoplankton I have noticed a gradual improvement in the texture and clarity of my skin. My energy levels also tend to be more stable and there is an overall improvement in my mood and a greater capacity to handle challenges and stay calm in stressful situations. All my life I had a sinus infection, I was constantly on antibiotics and Sinutab. I remember my three small daughters asking me if I remembered to take my Sinutab, because if I didn't I would be cranky from the sinus pain. Since the first week on Marine Phytoplankton my sinus infections are history.

Chemicals and Toxins Are The Primary Cause of Skin Disease

Substances that are toxic to our bodies come at us from all directions: the air we breathe, the food we eat, the water we drink, the cleaning products we use, and the metabolic waste produced inside us. Toxins build-up in the body contribute to premature aging and chronic and degenerative diseases. It's a fact. There are increasing amounts of toxins and chemical agents in the water we drink, the food we eat and the air we breathe - they all contribute to the breakdown in cellular communication and disease.

Unprecedented exposure to chemical contaminants, pollution, toxic products and stress has increased unhealthy conditions, from arthritis and cancer to heart disease, and even the symptoms of aging.

Our body is designed to utilize natural substances, which includes foods, herbs and phytochemicals. Any foreign substance will serve as a stimulus to our immune system, which has the function of removing these substances. Although the toxicity of a chemical may vary, it is the job of the liver to reduce toxins into compounds that the body can safely handle and eliminate through the kidneys (as urine), skin (as sweat), lungs (as expelled air) and bowels (as feces). Maintaining these eliminative organs in good working order is essential for ones good health to continue. While there are many detoxification programs available, they differ in their actions and their intent. When the body can eliminate toxins, then health is restored and energy and vigor are revitalized. Many different approaches to detoxification and wellness will work, even though they attack the problem at different levels. Any program that augments detoxification will improve health. Other factors must be considered in detoxification, like nutrition, water, and exercise, rest, sunshine, and fresh air.

Acne Rosacea

Rosacea, commonly spelled Rosecea and Roseacea, is a chronic, acne-like condition of the facial skin that may affect as many as 13 million Americans. It typically first appears when people reach their 30s and 40s as a flushing or subtle redness on the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead that comes and goes. If left untreated, rosacea tends to worsen over time. As the condition progresses, the redness becomes more persistent, bumps and pimples called papules and pustules appear and small dilated blood vessels may become visible. In some cases the eyes also may be affected, causing them to be irritated and bloodshot. In advanced cases, the nose may become red and swollen from excess tissue. Individuals who suspect they may have rosacea may wish to see a dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment.

Hydration for Resplendent Skin

Water therapy has been used for centuries to heal the sick. Hydro- and hydrothermal therapy are traditional methods of treatment that have been used for the treatment of disease and injury by many cultures, including those of ancient Rome, China, and Japan. Water therapy has been around for centuries. The ancient Greeks took clay and mineral therapeutic baths. Water is an important ingredient in the traditional Chinese and Native American healing systems.

F. Batmanghelidj, M.D. - "Every function inside the body is regulated by and depends on water. Water must be available to carry vital elements, oxygen, hormones, and chemical messengers to all parts of the body. Without sufficient water to wet all parts equally, some more remote parts of the body will not receive the vital elements that water supplies. Water is also needed to carry toxic waste away from the cells. In fact, there are at least 50 reasons why the body needs sufficient water on a regular, everyday basis. Without sufficient water to constantly wet all parts, your body's drought-management system kicks into action. The histamine-directed chemical messenger systems are activated to arrange a new, lower quota of water for the drought-stricken areas. When histamine and its subordinate "drought managers" come across pain-sensing nerves, they cause pain. This is what I discovered in my research that I mentioned earlier."

Unhealthy or aging Skin can be Dramatically improved with Honeybee Pollen
by Steve Schecter, N.D.

Basic beauty begins with the glow of good health, which shines from within. A scrubbed and radiant complexion transforms any woman (or man) into a singularly attractive person. On the other hand, dull, muddy skin, often caused by poor nutrition or personal hygiene, can detract from even the most attractive. Studies have shown that unhealthy or aging skin can be dramatically improved by the consumption of honeybee pollen.

When bee pollen is included daily in the diet, it not only gives you the glow of health and aids in safe, permanent weight loss, but it can also be blended into seemingly "magic potions" to smooth, soothe, and rejuvenate every inch of the outside of your body. Several relatively inexpensive mixtures of hive products, used externally, can revitalize and rejuvenate the complexion and may even eliminate acne.

Dr. Lars-Erik Essen, a dermatologist in Halsinborg, Sweden, pioneered the use of bee products for skin conditions. He treated many of his patients successfully for acne. Dr. Essen says, "Through transcutaneous nutrition, bee pollen exerts a profound biological effect. It seems to prevent premature aging of the cells and stimulates growth of new skin tissue. It offers effective protection against dehydration and injects new life into dry cells. It smooths away wrinkles and stimulates a life-giving blood supply to all skin cells.

The skin becomes younger looking, less vulnerable to wrinkles, smoother, and healthier with the use of honeybee pollen," Dr. Essen says. "Taken internally or used externally, bee pollen exercises a suppressive effect on facial acne. It is also an important skin rejuvenator, primarily because it contains a high concentration of the nucleic acids RNA and DNA as well as a natural antibiotic factor."

The French, long noted for their preoccupation with all things beautiful, have done a great deal of research on the use of bee pollen and other hive products in cosmetic preparations. Dr. M. Esperrois of the French Institute of Chemistry notes that honeybee pollen contains potent antibiotics that can act to reverse the effects normal aging exerts on skin, correcting darkening, wrinkles, and blemishes.

Professors N. Mankovsky and D. G. Chebotarev, two Russian scientists, confirm honeybee pollen stimulates cell renewal. They say, "The rejuvenation of skin and body cells can be encouraged by the administration of the poly-vitamins, microelements, enzymes, hormones, and amino acids present m bee pollen. These nutrients are needed by the body to form new tissue." These professors go on to praise the properties of bee pollen, calling them "vital to a form of internal and external rejuvenation at the cellular level.

Jojoba Oil - A Wonder for the Skin

The Egyptian, the Babylonians, the Arabian, the Aztec Civilization and others used the Jojoba Oil with it's seemingly Divine Power to heal the skin and beautify the body. The Harem of the Khalif of Baghdad used the Jojoba Oil Ancient Formula to energize their skin, to reflect their sensuality, and to offer freshness and longevity to their face and hair. The more I learned about Jojoba oil application and medical remedies the more I was convinced of its true name the "Divine Bush."

Jojoba (pronounced ho-ho-ba) oil is a vegetable oil obtained from the crushed bean of the jojoba shrub (Simmondsia chinenis). The jojoba shrub is native to the Sonoran Desert of northwestern Mexico and neighboring regions in Arizona and southern California. Native Americans have used jojoba for hundreds of years. In the 1700s, Father Junipero Serra, the founder of 21 California missions, noted in his diary that the Native Americans were using the oil and the seeds for many different purposes: for treating sores, cuts, bruises, and burns; as a diet supplement and as an appetite suppressant when food was not available; as a skin conditioner, for soothing windburn and sunburn; as a cooking oil; as a hair or scalp treatment and hair restorative; and as a coffee-like beverage by roasting the seeds.

Jojoba oil has many uses in a wide variety of industries. As a cosmetic, it is an effective cleanser, conditioner, moisturizer, and softener for the skin and hair. It is applied directly to the skin to soften the skin, to reduce wrinkles and stretch marks, to lighten and help heal scars, and to promote healthy scalp and hair. The potential therapeutic uses of jojoba oil include the treatment of acne, cold sores, and such skin diseases as psoriasis.

Black Cumin Oil - great for skin conditions

Professor G. Rietmuller, Director of Institute for immunology at the University of Munich believes that black seed plant extract works positively on the immune system and could be used as a bio-regulator. Professor Michael Meurer of the Dermatology Clinic in Munich has for a long time been convinced about the success of this oil. From his experience the black cumin seed oil help stop inflammation and helps with neurodermitis.

Black Cumin: The Magical Egyptian Herb for Allergies, Asthma, Skin Conditions, and Immune Disorders The extraordinary healing powers of black cumin have been known for centuries in the Middle East where the Prophet Mohammed himself declared: "Black cumin heals every disease except for death." It enjoyed wide use in ancient Egypt as a digestive aid and as an effective medicine for colds, headaches, toothaches, and infections. Because of its complex chemical structure--it has over one hundred active ingredients--black cumin has positive effects on the respiratory, immune, circulatory, digestive, and urinary systems. It is enormously effective against stomach ailments, and numerous skin conditions. It also has been the subject of intensive scientific research indicating that it strengthens and stabilizes the immune system and is greatly beneficial in the treatment of allergies. It has even been found to be beneficial in the treatment of impotence when the causes are primarily physiological.

This book will serve as an invaluable resource for anyone interested in the healing properties of this incredible plant. It contains everything you need to know in order to use black cumin for the prevention and treatment of illness, including specific recipes for infections and allergies, and precise directions for their preparation. The authors even provide a section on the use of black cumin as a beauty aid and as a culinary staple.

Healthy Body, Healthy Skin with Homeopathy

Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. - "We have found homeopathic remedies to be invaluable to help heal skin conditions, particularly when some or all of the above has been tried without success. We have used Apis mellifica (honeybee) many times for the type of skin rash which is hot, red, swollen, and burning. There are many remedies for eczema, including Graphites (graphite) for the type of eczema which is scaly and oozes a honey-like discharge, Petroleum when the skin is severely dry and cracked to the point of being leathery or like parchment, and Sulphur for eczema with terrible itching, worse after a hot bath or shower, often accompanied by dandruff or athlete's foot. Nearly any skin problem can be benefited by homeopathy. Skin conditions often heal through homeopathy from the top of the body downwards. We heard of one case of ichthyosis, a severe hardening and drying of the skin which produces which is called "fish skin" where the body cleared first after the correct homeopathic remedy almost miraculously from the head down to the waist, then gradually healed from the waist down."

Dr. Compton Burnett MD, author of "Diseases of The Skin" has maintained following points:
  • That the skin is very important living organ of body.
  • That it stands in intimate, through ill -understood, relationship to all the internal organ and parts.
  • That its healthiness is conditions by the general healthiness of the organism --- i.e, a healthy skin on an un-healthy body in inconceivable.
  • That being biologically within the organism, being fed from within, having it's life from within, having it's health from within, having its disease from within, it must also be treated medicinally from within.
  • That skin disease are most commonly not mostly organic, but at the same time orgasmic or constitutional.
  • That the skin being on excretory organ, and being spread out all over the organism, is often made use of by nature to keep the internal organs free from disease.
  • That as each portion of the skin corresponds vitally with some internal organ or part, so the skin disease if often merely the outward experience of internal disease. To treat the skin by outward applications, is really not treating the diseased state at all, but only preventing its peripheral expression.

The Ugly Side of Cosmetics

Make-up and body care products have been linked to allergic reactions, birth defects, and even cancer. It is a medically recognized fact that our body absorbs significant amounts of what we put on our skin. With Certified Organic food rapidly becoming the nutrition of choice by the health conscious amongst us, why would you accept any less for your skin?

Spray-On Skin Gun Heals Burned Skin in Days

When someone survives being severely burnt, only to die from their injuries later, it's not usually the burn, itself, that kills them. Instead, it's the infections that set into unprotected flesh before the skin has a chance to heal. This video clip is about a new way of treating burn victims closing open wounds faster by spraying them with a protective coating of skin cells grown from the patient's own. Scientists have been developing the skin spraying gun. Thanks to the safe stem-cell science behind this process, healing can now take just hours or days, rather than the usual weeks and months.
