"At the present time there are growing public and professional concerns
about the safety of currently mandated childhood vaccine programs, as reflected
in by a series of annual Congressional hearings in Washington DC that have
taken place since 1999, sponsored by the U.S. House Government Reform Committee
under the chairmanship of Congressman Dan Burton. At an annual conference
of the American College for the Advancement of Medicine during April 2001,

Feds settle vaccine lawsuit
and seal results
Vaccine manufacturers
have paid out nearly $2B in damages to parents in America whose children
were harmed by one of the childhood jabs such as the MMR (measles-mumps-rubella)
or DPT (diphtheria-pertussis-tetanus). In all, around 2,000 families have
received compensation payments that have averaged $850,000 each. There
are a further 700 claims that are going through the pipeline. None of the
claims is for autism as medical researchers say they have failed to find
a link between the disease and the MMR vaccine, despite the initial findings
made by Dr Andrew Wakefield. Instead they are for a wide spectrum of physical
and mental conditions that are likely to have been caused by one of the
vaccinations. Around 7,000 parents have filed a claim of an adverse reaction
with America's Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP). To win an award,
the claimant must prove a causal link to a vaccine. As the medical establishment
has refused to recognise any link to autism, the VICP has so far rejected

The FDA has been reviewing reports of abnormal behavior and other brain
effects in more than 1,800 children who had taken the flu medicine Tamiflu.
The symptoms have included convulsions, delirium or delusions, and in Japan,

or psychiatric problems.There have also been nine deaths among older teens
and adults, attributed to neuropsychiatric problems or brain infections.

least 12 infants who were part of a clinical study to test a pneumonia
vaccine have died in Argentina over the course of the past year.The study

Companies Investigated for Manslaughter A formal investigation has been launched by French authorities against
two managers from drug companies GlaxoSmithKline and Sanofi Pasteur. A
second investigation for manslaughter has also been opened against Sanofi
Pasteur MSD. The investigations are in response to allegations that the
companies failed to fully disclose side effects from an anti-hepatitis
B drug used between 1994 and 1998. During this time, close to two-thirds
of the French population, and almost all newborn babies, received a hepatitis
B vaccine. The vaccination campaign was halted after concerns rose over
the shot’s side effects. In the United States, the hepatitis B vaccine
is recommended for all newborns before they are discharged from the hospital.
These recommendations are inexcusable.

the Simpsonwood Conference Center in Norcross, Georgia to discuss a study
examining the link between increasing doses of Thimerosal
and neurodevelopmental disorders. The study was done using the Vaccine
Safety Datalink (VSD) database, an official governmental data bank collecting
patient vaccination information on the children from the health maintenance
organizations (HMOs) being paid to participate. Attending were 51 scientists,
representatives of pharmaceutical vaccine manufacturing companies and a
representative of the World Health Organization; the public and the media
were unlawfully excluded. The conclusions of this meeting were quite startling,
since it confirmed a dose-response link between Thimerosal and neurodevelopmental
disorders that held up to rigorous statistical analyses. In their discussion,
they make plain why the meeting was held in secret: the conclusions would
have destroyed the public’s confidence in the vaccine program, and more
importantly, their faith in vaccine authorities. When the results of this
study were published three years later in the journal Pediatrics, the “problem”
had been fixed, in that by adding another set of data from a third HMO,
reorganizing the criteria for inclusion and restructuring the patient groupings,
a less than statistically significant link was demonstrated. In my analysis
I discuss the more outrageous statements made during the meeting and how
accepted experts in the field of mercury neurotoxicity were excluded from
the meeting." The
truth behind the vaccine cover-up
February 9, 2004 - The Institute of Medicine held a meeting to review
research that has been found, which links thimerosal,
a mercury-based preservative in vaccines, and neurodevelopmental disorders
such as autism. The panel used data from the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention’s
(CDC) Vaccine Datalink, which concluded that children who are given three
thimerosal-containing vaccines are 27 times more likely to develop autism
than children who receive thimerosol-free vaccines.
Thimerosal has been gradually removed from vaccines since 1999, however
it is still present in some vaccinations, including virtually all flu shots.
During the review, medical experts discussed the results from a study that
showed urinary mercury concentrations were six times higher in children
with autism, as opposed to normal-age/vaccine matched controls. They also
said that they found evidence that suggested the link between thimerosal-containing
vaccines and autism had a higher risk than that between lung cancer and
smoking cigarettes.
Mercury is a potent neurotoxin. Injecting it into a child, whose nervous
system is rapidly developing, could have terrible consequences. So, before
you decide to vaccinate your children, do them a favor and look into the
many risks and side effects associated with common childhood vaccines.

In June 2000, a group of top government scientists and health officials
gathered for a meeting at the isolated Simpsonwood conference center in
Norcross, Ga. Convened by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,
the meeting was held at this Methodist retreat center, nestled in wooded
farmland next to the Chattahoochee River, to ensure complete secrecy. The
agency had issued no public announcement of the session - only private
invitations to 52 attendees. There were high-level officials from the CDC
and the Food and Drug Administration, the top vaccine specialist from the
World Health Organization in Geneva, and representatives of every major
vaccine manufacturer, including GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, Wyeth and Aventis
Pasteur. All of the scientific data under discussion, CDC officials repeatedly
reminded the participants, was strictly "embargoed." There would be no
making photocopies of documents, no taking papers with them when they left.
The
federal officials and industry representatives had assembled to discuss
a disturbing new study that raised alarming questions about the safety
of a host of common childhood vaccines administered to infants and young
children. According to a CDC epidemiologist named Tom Verstraeten, who
had analyzed the agency's massive database containing the medical records
of 100,000 children, a mercury-based preservative in the vaccines - thimerosal
- appeared to be responsible for a dramatic increase in autism and a host
of other neurological disorders among children. "I was actually stunned
by what I saw," Verstraeten told those assembled at Simpsonwood, citing
the staggering number of earlier studies that indicate a link between thimerosal
and speech delays, attention-deficit disorder, hyperactivity and autism.
Since 1991, when the CDC and the FDA had recommended that three additional
vaccines laced with the preservative be given to extremely young infants
- in one case, within hours of birth - the estimated number of cases of
autism had increased fifteenfold, from one in every 2,500 children to one
in 166 children.
Even for scientists and doctors accustomed to confronting issues of
life and death, the findings were frightening. "You can play with this
all you want," Dr. Bill Weil, a consultant for the American Academy of
Pediatrics, told the group. The results "are statistically significant."
Dr. Richard Johnston, an immunologist and pediatrician from the University
of Colorado whose grandson had been born early on the morning of the meeting's
first day, was even more alarmed. "My gut feeling?" he said. "Forgive this
personal comment - I do not want my grandson to get a thimerosal-containing
vaccine until we know better what is going on."
But instead of taking immediate steps to alert the public and rid the
vaccine supply of thimerosal, the officials and executives at Simpsonwood
spent most of the next two days discussing how to cover up the damaging
data. According to transcripts obtained under the Freedom of Information
Act, many at the meeting were concerned about how the damaging revelations
about thimerosal would affect the vaccine industry's bottom line. read

Reaction Register The Vaccine Reaction Register (VRR) has been
set up to allow parent, relatives and victims of vaccine injuries record
details of their own reactions to vaccination! Why? So we can try to identify
trends and patterns of which vaccines are causing what side effects with
the aim being able to draw valid statistics from the data gained and preventing

Encephalitis? New Scientist recently published a study that challenges the widely
held view that only extreme violence causes shaken baby syndrome and calls
into question the scientific evidence behind many convictions for killing
infants. Many parents have been charged with murder for allegedly shaking
their babies to death, but medical evidence suggests that vaccinations
are to blame in a large number of these cases.

who suffer the so-called 'shaken baby syndrome' may be victims of undiagnosed
vaccine damage. Ever since mass vaccination of infants began, reports of
serious brain, cardiovascular, metabolic and other injuries started filling
pages of medical journals.
"A great number of babies now die within days or within two to four
weeks of birth after hepatitis B
vaccination, as documented by the records of the VAERS
[Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System] in the USA.) So, the baby
stops progressing, starts deteriorating, and usually develops signs of
respiratory tract infection. Then comes the second and third injections,
and tragedy strikes: the child may cry intensely and inconsolably, may
stop feeding properly, vomit, have difficulty swallowing, become irritable,
stop sleeping, and may develop convulsions with accelerating progressive
deterioration of its condition and mainly its brain function.
This deterioration may be fast, or may slowly inch in until the parents
notice that something is very wrong with their child and then rush it to
the doctor or hospital. Interestingly, they are invariably asked when the
baby was immunised. On learning that the baby was indeed "immunised", the
parents may be reassured that its symptoms will all clear up. They are
sent home with the advice, "Give your baby Panadol". If they persist in
considering the baby's reaction serious, they may be labelled as anxious
parents or trouble-makers. So the parents go home, and the child remains
in a serious condition or dies.
Until recently, the vaccine death would have just been labelled "sudden
infant death", particularly if the symptoms and pathological findings were
minimal. However, nowadays, with an alarmingly increasing frequency, the
parents (or at least one of them, usually the father) may be accused of

baby Luca, baby Rikki, baby Alexa, and others Alan Yurko is serving a life sentence plus 10 years for shaken baby
syndrome (SBS). Numerous medical doctors have reviewed his son Baby Alan's

In October 1998, France became the first country to end hepatitis B
vaccination requirements for schoolchildren, after reports that many children
were developing chronic arthritis and symptoms resembling multiple sclerosis
following the administration of the vaccine. In the US, some experts are
worried about the effects of the still-mandatory injections here. Bonnie
Dunbar, PhD, a Texas cell biologist and vaccine researcher, says, "It takes
weeks and sometimes months for autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid
arthritis to develop following vaccination. No basic scientific research
or controlled long-term studies into the side effects of this vaccine have
been conducted on American babies, children, or adults."

The newly released 2002 immunization schedule encourages the routine
use of hepatitis B vaccine for all infants before hospital discharge. I
have seen many dozens of children who were given this vaccine on the first
day of life and subsequently developed autism. Others, like Michael Belkin's
daughter, weren't as likely and died immediately after the vaccine. Michael

For the 20-month period between November 1, 1990 and July 31,1992, there
were 4,227 reports of side effects from the Hepatitis B vaccine made through

Hepatitis
B Vaccine Triples the Risk of Autism in Infant Boys Using datasets from 1997 to 2002, this latest study found that newborn
boys more than tripled their risk of developing an autism spectrum disorder
after receiving the Hepatitis B vaccine. The increased use of the Hepatitis
B vaccine also coincides with the original rise in autism.
The
national on-line "Show Us the Vaccine Data Petition" was announced
by the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) at an August 23, 2004,
meeting of the Institute of Medicine (IOM), National Academies of Sciences
in Washington, D.C. At that meeting, parents of vaccine-injured autistic
children protested that the Vaccine Safety Datalink (VSD) was being used
by federal health officials to cover up vaccine risks associated with mercury
preservatives in vaccines. That day, the National Vaccine Information Center,
as well as SAFEMINDS, National Autism Association, Moms Against Mercury,
CoMed, NoMercury.org and Unlocking Autism, all called for full public disclosure
of all government-held vaccine risk data in the VSD
Manipulation
of Polio Statistics in the 1950's Dr. Bernard Greenberg, a biostatistics expert, was chairman of the
Committee on Evaluation and Standards of the American Public Health Association
during the 1950s. He testified at a panel discussion that was used as evidence
for the congressional hearings on polio vaccine in 1962. During these hearings
he elaborated on the problems associated with polio statistics and disputed
claims for the vaccine's effectiveness. He attributed the dramatic decline
in polio cases to a change in reporting practices by physicians. Less cases
were identified as polio after the vaccination for very specific reasons.
SV40 Contamination
of Polio Vaccine In the late 1940's and early 1950's the polio virus was taking a savage
toll on the American public. Thousands of children and adults were crippled
or killed. In 1955, Jonas Salk discovered how to mass produce polio
vaccine by growing it on the kidneys of rhesus monkeys. By 1960 a problem
had surfaced, a problem which would come back to haunt the nation forty
years later. Some of the polio vaccine given to millions of
American children from 1962 until 2000 could have been contaminated with
a monkey virus that shows up in some cancers, according to documents and
testimony to be delivered to a House committee Wednesday. The vaccine manufacturer
said such claims "don't have any validity," and the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention agrees. Some batches of the first polio vaccine
used from 1955 until 1962 were contaminated with the monkey virus. The
virus has also been found in some cancer in humans, although it has not
been determined that the virus caused the cancer. Between 10 and 30 million
Americans may have received a contaminated dose of that vaccine, according
to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The monkey virus
is suspected of causing cancer in laboratory animals, including brain cancers,
bone tumors and a usually fatal cancer in the membranes around the lungs
called mesothelioma.

The companies that manufacture vaccinations
are making millions of dollars per year. When a child has a permanently
debilitating reaction to a vaccine, the manufacturer is not even held financially
responsible - the government uses our tax dollars to compensate families
through an official program called the National Vaccine Injury Compensation
Program. Would this program even exist if it weren't obvious that vaccines
DO cause damage in some instances? Since the program’s implementation in
October of 1988, the top award has been $8.4 million, and the per-award
average is $833,000. Death awards are capped at $250,000 (greater awards
address the life-long needs of the permanently disabled), which I must
admit I find somewhat unsettling. While caring for a permanently disabled
child is far more costly than burying a dead one, and with all due respect
for the fact that no amount of money can bring back a deceased child, a
dead one is arguably a far greater loss, and thus worthy of greater compensation.While
not a goal of the program per se, the VICP has helped to validate thousands
of previously unacknowledged cries of anguished parents who endured not
only vaccine deaths and disabilities in their children, but also vehement
denials from authorities about the possibility of a vaccine connection.
While healthcare authorities continue to downplay and deny the existence
of serious vaccine reactions, the federal government, at least, has begun

Safe, Effective And Necessary Vaccines For Children Our legal system entitles pharmaceutical
companies to hire expert witnesses to defend their products in court. But
a growing number of people who are concerned with the safety of vaccines
are fearful that these relationships are jeopardizing the integrity of
vaccine policymaking. They ascribe their concern to the fact that many
of the doctors who enjoy financial connections with vaccine manufacturers
are the same individuals who sit on federal advisory committees and make
vaccine policy for the country.

Smallpox
Vaccine by Dr. William Howard Hay,
M.D., of Pocono, Pa., on June 25, 1937, to The Medical Freedom Society.
"It is now 30 years since I have been confining
myself to the treatment of chronic diseases. During those 30 years I
have run against so many histories of little children who had never seen
a sick day until they were vaccinated and who, in the several years that
have followed, have never seen a well day since.
I couldn't put my finger on the disease they have. They just weren't strong.
Their resistance was gone. They were perfectly well before they were vaccinated.
They have never been well since. Now you can't record those as deaths from
vaccination because they are still alive; but in England, where statistics
are a little more frank than they are with us, where they are kept a little
more accurately, a little more aboveboard than in this country, the actual
official records show three times as many deaths directly from vaccinations
as from smallpox for the past 21 years. If they record three times as many
deaths, I will guarantee you that there are three times as many deaths
that were not recorded that are directly traceable to vaccination. That
doesn't take into account the many, many cases of encephalitis or sleeping
sickness, of this or that form of degeneration, that occur as a direct
result of vaccination. That case is still alive. It hasn't entered here
the mortality records yet, but it is suffering and has suffered ever since
vaccination.
Smallpox

The safety and efficacy evaluations, and
federal approval of Prevnar is laden with ethical questions. Many of the
doctors directly involved in the testing and approval process appear to
have significant conflicts of interest. The efficacy of the vaccine is
questionable and safety testing has been terribly inadequate. There are
no long-term studies (i.e. more than 5 years) of the chronic, debilitating
and life threatening diseases that this vaccine may cause. The fact that
the vaccine is bio-engineered by combining various types and portions of
bacteria should require it to undergo considerable scrutiny. Assuming the
vaccine has any efficacy at all, the need for universal vaccination needs
to be reexamined in light of the small number of children who might be
at risk from serious complications from pneumococcal disease. At $242 per
child, Prevnar is expected to deliver sales of between $300-$500 million
per year for its manufacturer.
